Newly Minted City Status Klang Gets A RM40 Million Sports Complex

Newly minted city status, Klang is set to welcome a new sporting landmark within the next five years when the construction of the RM40 million North Klang Sports Complex in Bandar Bukit Raja is completed.

Klang Municipal Council (MPK) president Noraini Roslan said the development is among several high-impact projects that would provide long-term benefits for the residents in the district.

“This complex will resemble the Pandamaran Sports Complex and Kota Raja Stadium,” she said.

“The construction will be done in phases and is expected to be completed within three to five years.”

The development of the project was among several matters that were raised and discussed during MPK’s public engagement session for its 2024 budget at the KSL Esplanade Hotel, Klang last Sunday.

Meanwhile, Noraini said MPK is also planning to conduct restoration and maintenance of the Bugis yacht replica in Tanjung Harapan, which would cost RM3 million.

The ship has been a famous landmark for the Tanjung Harapan beach over the years, with the location being among the key tourist attractions in the district.

The two aforementioned projects are among efforts taken by MPK to improve Klang’s image ahead of its expected upgrading to a city status soon.
