Bursa Malaysia Rises Amid Positive Regional Market Sentiment Ahead of US Economic Data

Bursa Malaysia ended Tuesday’s morning trading session higher, in sync with the upbeat regional market performance ahead of key US economic readings this week that could be the clue to the US Federal Reserve’s decision on interest rates.

At lunch break, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 6.2 points to 1,450.26 from 1,444.06 at Monday’s close.

The key index, which opened 0.59 of-a-point lower at 1,443.47, moved between 1,441.52 and 1,454.54 throughout the session.

However, the broader market was negative with decliners edging past advancers 471 to 412, while 394 counters were unchanged, 1,102 untraded and 71 others suspended.
