Govt Announces RAHMAH 5G Packages, RAHMAH Civil Servant Postpaid Incentive

Ahead of National Day 2023, the Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) in collaboration with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), and telecommunications service providers (telco) CelcomDigi Berhad (CelcomDigi), Maxis Berhad (Maxis), TM (Unifi Mobile), U Mobile Sdn Bhd (U Mobile), and YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (Yes) as well as two device companies namely Samsung and Honor simultaneously launched the RAHMAH 5G Package and the RAHMAH Postpaid Incentive for Civil Servants.

RAHMAH’s 5G package is a 5G smartphone package with a device price as low as RM240.00 with a data plan from 60GB at a price of RM60.00 per month.

This package is open to all Malaysians to subscribe to. For the B40 group, the first 100,000 customers will enjoy the RAHMAH 5G Package with a device price as low as RM120.00. The package is available for subscription as early as August 31, 2023 with a 24-month subscription contract. This package also extends the warranty period to 2 years compared to only 1 year before.

Also available for subscription from 16 September 2023 is the Public Servant RAHMAH Postpaid Incentive targeted at all Malaysian civil servants. This package offers a rebate of RM10 per month for any existing postpaid package selected from telco companies, which provides more savings to civil servants.

The RAHMAH 5G package and the RAHMAH Postpaid Incentive for Civil Servants is a government initiative with telco companies and device companies involved as a collaborative effort to ensure that the people can enjoy the benefits of 5G, quality internet access at an affordable price, and further bridge the digital divide. This is also in line with the vision and framework of MADANI Economy which also focuses on initiatives to reduce the economic burden of the people.
