MDEC’s DEX Connex Program Strengthens Malaysia-Philippines Tech Collaboration, Targets RM150 Million Digital Export Opportunities

Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) announces the successful implementation of its recent DEX Connex programme in collaboration with the Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) Philippines.

The programme is crafted to support Malaysia tech companies to foster their business growth within the Philippines. This is aimed to also enhance collaborative relationships between high-tech companies in Malaysia and Philippines.

It served as a valuable platform for participants to engage, expand their reach, showcase technology companies from Malaysia, and facilitate business growth opportunities towards driving the digital economy in ASEAN.

A total of 26 high-tech Malaysian companies set forth to Manila to participate in this programme, with MDEC expecting to generate RM150 million in digital export opportunities as a result.

Gopi Ganesalingam, Senior Vice President / Head of Digital Export Division of MDEC, highlighted the importance of fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing as key drivers for innovation and growth in the digital economy. The programme, he added, serves as a platform to engage, connect and showcase Malaysian Tech companies via MDEC’s Business Support Ecosystem partners in the Philippines.

The programme also witnessed a significant milestone with exchanging of Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) between Malaysian and Philippines companies. Malaysian companies include HorecaBid, KAT Solutions, Senang PKS, and Fresnal Group. Meanwhile, Philippines partners include Multisys Corporation,

Cognitif, Western Guaranty, and IOT Technology, Inc. The MoU exchanges are to further solidify the collaboration between the two nations.

Meanwhile, MDEC will be launching the Malaysia Digital Expo (MDX) 2023 in September, an event that celebrates and amplifies all tech events with participations of international and local speakers, and panelists from reputable organisations which will take place across Malaysia.
