Positive Morning Trading Boosts Bursa Malaysia with Selective Heavyweight Stocks

Bursa Malaysia ended Wednesday’s morning trading session higher, driven by continuous buying in selected heavyweight stocks amid cautious sentiment in regional markets, dealers said.

At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 5.78 points to 1,460.61 from 1,454.83 at Tuesday’s close.

The key index, which opened 0.18 points higher at 1,455.01, moved between 1,454.25 and 1,460.99 throughout the session.

The broader market was positive with advancers surpassing decliners 425 to 354, while 433 counters were unchanged, 1,099 untraded and seven others suspended.

Turnover stood at 2.60 billion units worth RM1.01 billion.
