Halal Certificates Must Be Issued Within 30 Days, No Excuses: Zahid

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi has there is no reason why Halal certificates should be delayed and has instructed the relevant issuer to have them completed within 30 days.

The DPM made the statement during his opening speech at the MIHAS 2023 event which is being held in MITEC till this Friday. He also advised the agencies to conduct workshops on halal certification at least three times a year for new applicants.

There have been many complaints in the past with regard to the certification where traders have been made to wait for years including reports of corruption and little Napolean behavior among the officers in charge.
