The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) and the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) have signed a MoU at UPM-MTDC Technology Centre III in Serdang today (September 18).
This MoU is a continuation from the previous successful collaboration between KBS and MTDC where a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between both parties for the Transformation Of Technical, Vocational Education (TVET) Programmes, in March this year at Kuala Lumpur Industrial Training Institute.
This new partnership, MTDC will be supporting KBS with advisory services and support, as well as the implementation of the teaching factory in educational deliveries to university students under the TVET programmes.
The advisory services and support provided will encompass accreditation, competency development, knowledge transfer, equipment upgrading, capacity-building programs, and the promotion of education and professional training in technology-related fields.
Furthermore, MTDC will also play a crucial role in the implementation of the Teaching Factory. This initiative includes upgrading of facilities and teaching equipments to provide a more conducive learning environment for students.
Ts. Hj Mohammad Hazani Hj Hassan, CEO of MTDC, shared during the MoU ceremony that, “By working hand-in hand with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Institusi Latihan Kemahiran Belia dan Sukan (ILKBS), it gives us an opportunity to create a vibrant ecosystem that empowers the youth and accelerates technological advancements in Malaysia. We aspire to create pool of competent TVET talents for high paying jobs in deeptech and i.40 industry.”
He also highlighted the significance of the partnership in promoting networking opportunities between MTDC and its ecosystem companies with ILKBS.
