Proton Starts Taking Booking For Smart #1 EV

Proton-owned smart EV cars have officially announced they will start accepting bookings for smart #1 in Malaysia. This is in conjunction with the signing of an enhanced Memorandum of Agreement between smart & PROTON that took place in Nanning, China.

Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of smart Malaysia said, ‘We are proud to be at the forefront of the smart brand’s arrival in the ASEAN region, as smart Automobile announces its first delivery ceremony for the smart #1 in Malaysia.

Customers may reserve the smart #1 through the Hello smartApp with a refundable RM1,000 booking fee, for the first 501 pre-order customers, they will also unlock exclusive #1 Early-Bird perks comprised of RM1,001 in charging credits directly via the Hello smart App. These charging credits, are to be credited to their account upon delivery of their smart #1.

The smart #1 will be available as Pro, Premium, and BRABUS models that have been specifically tailored for the Malaysian market. The smart #1 Pro variant features low drag 19″ Alloy Wheels for stability and a Panoramic Halo Roof for natural light and views. It is powered by a 49kWh LFP Battery, providing a WLTP Range of 315km. The smart #1 Premium variant offers additional features including CyberSparksLED + Matrix Headlamps, an Illuminated Front Grille, and a 66kWh NMC Battery. It is equipped with a 200kW/343Nm single motor driving the rear wheels, delivering a WLTP Range of 440km.

The BRABUS variant is designed for high-performance enthusiasts, boasting a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds. Performance is delivered by a 315kW/543Nm Dual-motor All- Wheel-Drive powertrain, offering exceptional handling and traction. On the top of its focus on performance, it offers a practical WLTP Range of 400km.

Price range for smart #1 Pro, Premium and BRABUS – with Sales and Service Tax (on the road, without insurance) is from RM200,000 to RM250,000.
