With careers spanning decades in the hospitality industry, each of these leaders brings an abundance of invaluable experience and a steadfast commitment to the new hotels that are slated to open by the end of the third quarter of 2023. Bipan Kapur, Complex General Manager

A driven and innovative professional with over four decades of experience, Bipan Kapur has dedicated most of his career to Marriott International. Starting his hospitality journey with The Oberoi in 1980 in India, he has consistently excelled in his field. With a persona reflecting the determination of an athlete, Kapur has garnered respect throughout his career, earning the confidence of top hospitality brands such as Sheraton, The Westin, and Shangri-La since 1992. His passion for excellence has enabled him to demonstrate leadership across various locations, including India, the Middle East, Australia, China, Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore. Over 27 years, he has gained valuable experiences in lifestyle hotels, resorts, and convention centre hotels, including hotel launches and team cultivation.

Daniel Herrmann, Complex Director of Food & Beverage

With nearly two decades of experience in food and beverage management, Daniel Herrmann has established himself as an accomplished professional in the global hospitality industry. Beginning his career in Germany at 19, he swiftly rose through the ranks, overseeing restaurant operations across various countries, including China, England, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Cayman Islands, and Maldives. His notable achievements include managing establishments with daily covers ranging from 500 to 2,000 at properties like JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai and Grand Cayman Marriott Resort, earning him the 2017 CALA Restaurateur of The Year accolade.

Chef Alan Wong, Complex Director of Culinary

Chef Alan Wong believes that aesthetics make the first impression, but it’s the taste that truly defines quality—a philosophy that mirrors his own approach as a chef. Raised in a family of food enthusiasts, Wong’s culinary journey began at the age of eight, and his passion for contemporary European cuisine, utilizing local produce, has guided his career since 2001. He has refined his skills alongside talented mentors and chefs in prestigious hotels across Singapore, China, and Malaysia. In 2018, he joined the Marriott family as Director of Culinary at W Beijing Chang’an. With a deep appreciation for gastronomy, he left his mark throughout China, blending European flavors with his Asian heritage.

Rosidah Abdullah, Complex Director of Sales & Marketing

With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry specializing in sales and client management, Rosidah has demonstrated capabilities to lead the sales, marketing, events, revenue management, and reservations divisions. She is poised to develop growth-driving business strategies, optimize revenue streams, and surpass business objectives given her unquestionable passion in achieving results. With the recent success of her role as Director of Sales & Marketing during the pre-opening activation at Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown in 2019, which includes securing the new hotel an airline crew contract worth MYR 1.8mil in revenue, Rosidah’s list of professional feats exemplifies her commendable leadership and commitment since her stints in several international hospitality brands, particularly with Marriott International.
