The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) through the MyCreative Ventures (MyCreative) Group is allocating RM12 million to music activists through the Music Industry 2023 Digital Content Fund (DKD) for the second round.

According to a statement issued by MyCreative, the funds involved will be distributed to three categories with the opportunity for assistance reaching up to RM300,000.

“Following on from the first round of DKD Music Industry 2023 earlier this year, a total of RM10 million has been approved and given to 43 recipients.

“This second round of funds will provide support to more music activists through three main categories, namely the Music Performance Fund 2.0, the Domestic Marketability Fund 2.0 and the International Marketing and Promotion Fund 2.0,” it said.

The statement also mentioned that, in addition to developing competitive human capital, the fund can also create a competitive music industry to produce a positive economic impact.

“Recipients will be selected based on the merit and feasibility of the application, in addition to marketability capable of expanding the country’s music ecosystem,” it added.

Applications for DKD Music Industry 2023 second round will be opened from 22 September 2023.

For the Music Performance Fund 2.0 and Domestic Marketability Fund 2.0 categories, the application period will end on November 6.

For the International Marketing and Promotion Fund 2.0, applications will be open throughout the year.

Since its introduction in 2022, DKD Industri Muzik under the supervision of MyCreative has succeeded in helping more than 1,500 local workers in various fields to rise again in the face of the post-pandemic with a fund allocation of RM13 million to date.

The program is one of the initiatives that is the main driver of the creative industry and contributes to the national economy in a sustainable manner.
