Astro Reports 75% Drop In Q2 Profit To RM24 Million, Revises Dividend Policy

Astro saw its revenue dwindle further in quarter four of FY 2023, the group posted revenue of RM870 million with a PATAMI of RM24 million, this was against RM98 million it registered in the same preceding quarter in FY2022 and revenue of RM921 million.

To date, the revenue stands at RM1.76 billion with profits at RM39.5 million which is way below its 2022 profit of RM198 million for the 2 cumulative quarters.

The Group said it remains cash-generative and proactive in its capital management, it looks at balancing the competing needs of reinvesting into the growth of adjacent businesses, preserving liquidity to strengthen the balance sheet and rewarding shareholders through dividends. It said the Board has approved a revision to its dividend policy, effective immediately, from the financial year ending 31 January 2024.
