Bursa Ends Mixed Amid Profit-Taking, Regional Volatility

Bursa Malaysia ended the morning trading session mixed on Tuesday due to mild profit-taking in selected heavyweights amid mixed regional market performance, a dealer said.

At lunch break, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 1.8 points to 1,420.56 from Monday’s closing of 1,418.76.

The index, which opened 0.18 of a point lower at 1,418.58, moved between 1,417.94 and 1,424.11 during the session.

However, market breadth was negative with losers leading gainers 473 to 298, while 448 counters were unchanged, 1,076 untraded and 23 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 1.86 billion units worth RM1.06 billion.
