PJ, KL Folks Asked To Brace For Water Cuts On October 10, 9 am Onwards

Air Selangor will start the asset upgrading, maintenance, and replacement works for the Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant (WTP) on October 10 at 9am which the state-owned agency said will cause scheduled water supply disruptions in the Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, and Hulu Langat regions.

“It is expected to be completed by 7pm on the same day. Water supply will be distributed to consumers in stages after the upgrading, maintenance and replacement are completed and the main water supply distribution system has been stabilised.

“The water supply is expected to fully recover at 12pm, on October 12 (Thursday),” it said in a statement today.

Air Selangor advised consumers to store adequate water supplies and use water prudently during the scheduled supply disruption period.

“The duration of this disruption and recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location of the consumer’s premises and the water pressure at the distribution system.

“We will mobilise water tankers to the affected areas by prioritising critical premises like hospitals, dialysis centres, and funerals. Therefore, Air Selangor would like to advise affected consumers to use water prudently during this period,” it said.

For commercial customers, water supply can be purchased at any customer service counter across all Air Selangor regions. Commercial customers can use their respective water tankers at two local water filling stations that will be opened in Sunway Batu Caves and Selayang Mutiara.
