KNM Group Removes Tan Sri Zulhasnan And Steven Ho From The Board

KNM Group which had its EGM today with the board backing its Chairman Tunku Yaacob Kyra, has also announced two of its board members namely Tan Sri Dr Zuhasnan Rafique Non Independent Director, and Mr Hoo Soo Woon Independent Director being removed from the board with immediate effect.

It was done by way of a poll at the Extraordinary General Meeting of KNM Group Berhad held on 16 October 2023.

Tan Sri (Dr) Zulhasnan Rafique was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Chairman of KNM Group Berhad on 18 September 2021 and subsequently redesignated as its Executive Chairman on 23 November 2021. Thereafter he relinquished his chairmanship on 7 February 2023 and redesignated as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director.

Tan Sri (Dr) Zulhasnan Rafique is an Entrepreneur who was also a former Fighter Pilot, Member of Parliament, Cabinet Member and Diplomat. His Political career commenced in 1999, where he contested and was elected as Member of Parliament in Wangsa Maju in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. He was elected for another two terms in 2004 and 2008 as the Member of Parliament for Setiawangsa Parliamentary constituency; also in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. Tan Sri (Dr) Zulhasnan Rafique also served in the Malaysian Cabinet for 5 years; as Deputy Federal Territories (FT) Minister and then FT Minister (2004-2009).

Mr Ho Soo Woon (Steve Ho) was appointed to the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director on 18 September 2021. He is the founder and Managing Director of Tesoro Capital Sdn Bhd a corporate consultancy outfit that specializes in initial public offerings, secondary capital and debt fundraisings, reverse takeovers, mergers, and acquisition exercises.

Steve Ho has over 36 years of experience in corporate, commercial, financial, and operational matters spanning across various business sectors including banking, manufacturing, real estate, healthcare, oil & gas, and mining.

He was previously the commercial director of Atrium Reit (a real estate investment trust listed on Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange) In 2018 and AHB Holdings Bhd (a furniture manufacturer listed on Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange) in 2020.
