International Reserves Stands At US$110.14 Billion As Of End Sept

Bank Negara has released data on the latest international reserves standing as of the end of September 2023 with a total amount of US$110.14 billion.

Other foreign currency assets amounted to USD1.6 million as of end-September 2023. Government and the maturity of foreign currency Bank Negara Interbank Bills amounted to USD17,285.5 million. The net short forward positions
amounted to USD24,097.4 million as at end-September 2023, reflecting the management of ringgit liquidity in the money market.

However, it is sufficient to finance 5.1 months of imports of goods and services (previously retained imports: 7.0 months) and is 1.0 times the total short-term external debt.
