Tesla Supercharger Station In Sunway Delivers 282km In 15 Minutes

The installation of more supercharging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) in the country is expected to boost the popularity of EVs as a low-carbon option, says Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

Following the launch of Selangor’s first Tesla Supercharger located near the main entrance of the Sunway Pyramid shopping centre in Petaling, yesterday, the Menteri Besar expressed the state administration’s support toward the initiatives by the Federal government to boost the use of EVs and renewable energy.

“The Selangor government welcomes the Federal administration’s efforts to promote the use of EVs as part of the initiative to increase the use of renewable energy,” he said in a post on X today.

Amirudin said Malaysia already has 16 supercharging stations, which is expected to increase as four more stations will be launched shortly at the Freeport A’Famosa Outlet in Melaka.

At the launch of the four sets of Superchargers in Selangor, provided primarily for Tesla drivers, Amirudin also said he had the opportunity to experience the Tesla Model 3.

“With a peak charging speed of 250kW, these Superchargers allow the Tesla Model 3 to achieve a range of up to 282km in just 15 minutes,” he said.
