Bursa Ends Morning Session Lower, Tracking Softer Regional Market Sentiment

Bursa Malaysia ended the morning trading session lower on Friday (Nov 10), tracking the softer regional market sentiment, following a sharp sell-off in the US, after a poorly received 30-year US Treasury auction and hawkish remarks from US Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell.

At 12.30pm, the key index slipped 4.90 points to 1,447.37, from Thursday (Nov 9)’s close of 1,452.27.

The FBM KLCI opened 1.71 points easier at 1,450.56 and moved between 1,445.21 and 1,451.22 throughout the session.

The broader market was also negative, as decliners trounced gainers 505 to 247, while 399 counters were unchanged, 1,223 untraded, and 20 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 2.02 billion units, worth RM829.27 million, Bernama reported.
