Permit Renewal Fees For Indonesian Domestic Workers Fixed At RM610

The Ministry of Human Resources has issued the latest renewal fees for the employment of foreign domestic workers, with guidelines stating permits to be renewed annually.

Minister V Sivakumar said the permits must also be applied 3 months before the expiry, they however can be done by the employer or by appointing a private employment agency registered with the Department of Labor Peninsular Malaysia.

The new permit renewal fee for domestic workers from Indonesia Levy = RM410 i. PLKS = RM60 iii. Process = RM125 iv. Visa = RM15 TOTAL = RM610. The costs mentioned are exclusive of costs of health checks (FOMEMA) which are to be made every year first, second, third, and every 2 subsequent years not exceeding RM200.

Expired passport renewal fees are to be determined by the embassy of each worker’s country of origin. Currently, the Indonesian domestic worker’s employment is required to be made through employment agencies registered with the government. By that, any additional costs imposed by the said agencies are subject to the agreement of both parties while the renewal process of workers permits other than Indonesians can be made by the employer online.
