Former Health DG Plans To Sue Popular Herbal Drink Brand

Former Health Director General, Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah is planning to take the popular herbal drink brand Koong Woh Tong to court over the unapproved use of the doctor’s image in promotional materials by the company.

In a social media post, the Ministry of Health DG said the act is an irresponsible marketing ploy using his name and photos Koong Wih Tong to cheat the public. Noor Hisham said the act leaves him no choice but to take legal action against the company.

The doctor has also asked the public about the quantum he should seek, which he then added that if he wins will then channel it to an NGO.

Koong Woh Tong was established in 1990 specialising in herbal jelly, the company has outlets in most shopping malls across the country. It says on its website, that the herbal jelly offered has healing values
