Koong Woh Tong Stops Using Former Health DG Images In Promotions

Herbal drink brand Koong Woh Tong which was being threatened by former Ministry of Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah with legal action for using his images without his approval and to cheat the public, the company has sent BusinessToday a press statement with regards to the matter.

Koong Woh Tong has stated that it was never the intention to use any images or names of any persons for commercial gain or benefit but had merely used original newspaper cuttings and articles that were already published and reported to the public that herbal remedies are not specific treatments for COVID-19 but aid in the recovery process of COVID-19 patients.

It was an extract of one of the ex-DGs previous press briefings in his capacity when he was with the ex-Health of Malaysia.
The company has further informed that it has never attempted to confuse nor mislead the public into believing that its products were endorsed by Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah or by anyone else.

The company said it wishes to clarify that its products have never at any point in time been endorsed by Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah or any prominent public figures and that the products have no affiliation with them.

It has also taken immediate steps to remove all newspaper cuttings and articles from the shops displaying them.
