Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today (Nov 24) confirmed that he has a ministerial candidate who will lead the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).
He said, the portfolio will be filled as soon as possible, soon.
“There are, there are (replacement candidates),” he said when asked by reporters after Friday prayers and lunch at Surau Al Furqan, Precinct 11, Putrajaya.
Anwar, however, did not reveal who the candidate will fill the portfolio to replace the incumbent Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, who died last July, but confirmed that it will be implemented as soon as possible.
Salahuddin, 61, died at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar, Kedah on 23 July last after being put to sleep after undergoing surgery due to brain haemorrhage.
The position of Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living is currently held by the Acting Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Duties), Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.
