Supermax Corporation Berhad has updated on the progress of the construction of its manufacturing facility in the US, the first Malaysian company to have set up a glove manufacturing facility in the US.
Dato’ Stanley Thai, Founder and Executive Chairman said the pandemic had not deterred the company from taking an executive decision to invest and expand in significant markets, choosing to capitalise on the opportunities that prevail in the US market by investing in a manufacturing facility for growth.
“Supermax’s American and Malaysian teams have been working very hard to manage the setting-up of the US operations and we are pleased to announce that construction of our first manufacturing facility will be substantially completed before the end of December 2023. The next stage will involve the installation of various manufacturing equipment including A.I., Automation and Robotics facilities. A technical team from Supermax Malaysia will be deployed to the US facility in various stages for commissioning of the manufacturing facility.
He added that the group has fulfilled and complied with various regulatory requirements including permits to operate
glove manufacturing plant in Brazoria County, Texas USA.
With the glove sector continue to languish, the Chairman also shared with shareholders at its 26th AGM that the company will continue to face challenges for the next 5-6 quarters to come with improvements expected in 2025.
