Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has confirmed that with the split of his ministry, MDEC, MyNIC, and the personal data protection agency will be parked under the newly formed Ministry of Digital lead by Gobind Singh Deo.
While Fahmi will continue to oversee MCMC and J-Kom the communication arm of the government, the changes comes after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made major shuffles to his cabinet after 1 year of evaluating including the formation of 2 new ministries.
However, the decision on the country’s sole 5G network service provider Digital Nasional Berhad which is currently under the Communication Ministry and Ministry of Finance has yet to know its fate.
