A local city council is offering prizes including a wall clock for those who settle their annual assessment ahead of the deadline. Kuala Langat Municipal Council in efforts to woo early payers, is giving 2000 lucky house owners opportunity to receive Touch ‘n Go card with a RM10 top-up and other prizes to incentive them.
Eligibility include paying assessment tax of RM200 and above for a period of one year for term one and two and have no outstanding arrears. The campaign to pay the assessment tax early also offered souvenirs in the form of exclusive designed wall clocks with the MPKL logo to the first 3,000 tax payers worth RM100 to RM200.
While in the past home owners would drag payment until officers come to seal the houses, this time around city councils are encouraging with carrot instead of stick.
