Mahathir Agrees With PM Anwar For The First Time

In a surprising move, former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has agreed with current Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s decision to deny Israel’s shipping company ZIM from docking in Malaysian ports.

In his soclail media platform, Tun Mahathir who has been a critic of Anwar’s administration said he supported the governments move to block the ship from docking in the country’s ports.

He further briefed that the the Government in 2002 had allowed ZIM to dock because at that time Malaysia still had hope for peace efforts between Palestine and Israel and we have once allowed the Israeli cricket team in the hope that its people could see that Malaysians who are majority Muslims can live with people of other religions. However, Tun said the efforts were in vain because Israel continued to show its animal nature and continued to kill the Palestinian people.

Mahathir who has taken a back seat of late has been lambasting Anwar for his policies and support for DAP, which then prompted the senior statesman to form alliance with an all Islamic party which he once labeled ‘extremist’.
