Govt Gives Xmas Present Of 2 Toll Free Days

The government has confirmed that it will be giving 23 and 26 December as toll free days across major highway’s in view of the upcoming holiday week and Christmas period.

Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan had said the government, through the Finance Ministry and Works Ministry, was expected to announce the exemption of toll fees in conjunction with the Christmas celebration on Friday (December 22).

“… will announce the date, whether there is toll exemption in conjunction with the Christmas celebration.

According to reports Ahmad said that, on average, the government allocates RM21 million a day to the highway concessionaires through the implementation of free tolls.
