Major Highways Reported To Being Congested

Highway authorities report that traffic flow on major roads in the city have began to build up causing congestion this morning, this is in view of the increase in vehicles in conjunction with the Christmas Day weekend.

A spokesman for the Malaysian Highways Authority said traffic was congested and slow heading north from Sungai Buloh towards Bukit Beruntung, as of 9.30 this morning. There was an accident at KM 426.5 heading south from Bukit Tagar to Bukit Beruntung with the right lane in both directions still closed and northbound traffic congested for 11 kilometers while southbound traffic was still under control.

PLUS update through social media said an accident at KM182.2 heading north from Jasin to Ayer Keroh with the right lane blocked and traffic congested for four kilometers. Meanwhile, traffic was also reported to be slow before the Gombak Toll Plaza eastbound from Gombak to Genting Sempah due to the increase in vehicles.

The government has offered 2 free toll days for travellers in conjunction of the holidays, 23 December and 26 December.
