McDonald’s Sues BDS Malaysia For Defamation

McDonald’s Malaysia is suing Boycott Divest Sanctions(BDS) for defamation over the groups continues allegation that the fast food company is linked to supporters of Palestine attacks by the Israelis.

The local franchise which is operated by Gerbang Alaf Restaurants Sdn Bhd said the business has been severely affected due to BDS. The registered NGO which was served a writ of summon said it categorically denies the accusations and will allow the courts to decide.

BDS on its X platform said it had consulted with its lawyers and will be releasing a detailed statement on the matter.

The NGO has listed a host of brands that is says consumers should boycott as they are deemed to support Israel’s cause, among them are PapaJohn’s, KFC, Domino’s, Burger King and others.
