ASEAN Ready To Assist Japan In Relief Efforts

The ASEAN Foreign Ministers issued a statement on the recent tragedy that struck Japan with regards to an earthquake that has left the coast severely damaged.

ASEAN group said it is saddened by the loss of lives and extensive damage to properties caused by the earthquake in Ishikawa Prefecture and other prefectures in central Japan on 1 January 2024. And expressed its heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the Government and people of Japan, especially the families and communities affected by the earthquake and its impact.

The ministerial affirms its solidarity with the Government and people of Japan in this difficult time and stands ready to extend its assistance to the relief efforts. The group said it is confident that Japan will overcome and recover swiftly from the impact of this natural disaster.
