The RM10 billion Komtar – Bayan Lepas Light Rail Transit (LRT) project will be finalised very soon said Transport Minister, Anthony Loke Siew Fook.
He said that Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had instructed the Ministry of Transport to prepare a Cabinet memorandum to be presented for approval.
A much needed public transport system for the island, the LRT is the latest project in improving infrastructure in Penang as congestion builds up due to over dependent of vehicles.
Earlier, the Federal Government agreed to assist the Penang State Government in speeding up the Komtar-Bayan LRT project which is estimated to be worth RM10 billion.
