Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on for the Ministry of Higher Education’s outdated bureaucracy dictating on Universities activities must be stopped immediately.
As reported by the government owned media outlet, the Prime Minister also said asked the Ministry of give local universities and varsities room and autonomy for the higher learning institutions to decide for themselves what is important on their needs and relevance.
After a cabinet reshuffle, Anwar had seconded his Foreign Affairs Minister Dato Zambry Abdul Kadir to helm the post and looks to invigorate the education sector which is close the the PM’s heart.
