Sultan Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Convey Greetings For Thaipusam

As far as we can recall there has rarely been such high recognition for the Hindu religious ceremony of Thaipusam from the royals and even the Prime Minister that what we see today.

This moment in Malaysia’s history is a remarkable change where all races in the country can once again feel united and proud to call this amazing land our home.

In a warm gesture dressed in striking colours with the stairs of Batu Caves photoshopped in the background, the Sultan of Selangor and the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor have conveyed their greetings on the occasion of Thaipusam to all Hindu devotees, especially to Selangor’s residents who celebrate it.

The Selangor Royal Office’s Facebook page said Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin hopes the Thaipusam celebration, focused at Batu Caves, will be celebrated in an orderly and festive atmosphere.

“His Royal Highness wishes the celebrations observed by every community and religion in Malaysia will continue to be respected and carried out in an atmosphere of full tolerance and harmony.

“May this year’s Thaipusam celebration continue to foster the spirit of unity among the diverse people of different races and religions, while sowing the seeds of unity among each other,” it said.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim released a short video wishing all Hindu’s in the country a Happy Thaipusam.
