Berjaya Consortium Submitted Proposal For HSR Project Back In Jan 15

Berjaya Land which saw its share price rise after being reported that it had formed a consortium together with IJM, MRCB and KTMB to bid for the KL-Singapore HSR job had today officially announced that it had submitted the RFI back in January 15.

The company Berjaya Rail Sdn Bhd, a 70%-owned subsidiary of BLand, had formed a consortium with amongst others, IJM Construction Sdn Bhd, Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad and Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhd to bid for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed rail project that is stipulated to cost over RM42 billion is earmarked to change rail transport between the two nations substantially.

Berjaya has strong ties with the Johor royalty the Southern state that has a big say in how the HSR project develops, it is also be noted that the incoming King will be Sultan Johor who will be taking over sometime this year.
