Tourism Malaysia Confident Achieving 27.3 Million Tourist Arrivals In 2024

Tourism Malaysia is confident of achieving the 27.3 million tourist arrival this year due to several factors said Director General Datuk Dr. Ammar Ghapar.

According to data, last year 20 million foreign tourist arrivals was recorded surpassing the target of 19.1 million that was set. Among the factors include the visa relaxation between Malaysia and China, and the increase of flights to popular destinations like China and India.

Malaysia will be competing with Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia whom have all signed free visa agreement with China and have been rolling the red carpet for mainland tourist. However, Malaysia has seen an immediate impact on the visa liberations program witnessing a jump in tourist arrivals from China and India.
