The Government has informed via its media channel that the revised civil service salary structure will be announced during this years budget tabling session.
The message was posted on the government owned media today, the adjustment on salary has been one of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s pledge to public servants who have not seen a revision of their pay package for quite some time.
Last week the PM said the study on the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) is expected to be announced in the fourth quarter of this year. He said it was time to expedite the process to benefit public servants nationwide.
“There have been complaints about the duration of this SSPA study because it has been 12 years and the salary rates of civil servants have not been reviewed and increased.
“Last year I gave an assurance and this year it has reached a stage where I will expedite the process,” he said.
The Prime Minister said the process would be expedited in the coming months and would be presented to the Cabinet within three months.
