Economic Minister Rafizi Ramli has informed that he is in the hospital for a slipped disc surgery and not as reported by some media of a heart attack this time.
This comes after news report alleged that the minister was in the hospital again for a heart condition with the Prime Minister paving a visit, in a whatsapp statement to the media, the minister shared the chronology of health conditions he endured since becoming the Economic Minister.
Rafizi who has been previously warded due to a heart attack came clean on his past condition which he stated was due to high cholesterol that he has been having since he was young. He also refuted claims about the last admission being due to work stress but more due to his cholesterol which he said resulted in clogged arteries. However upon surgery to expand the arteries which he said was successful, the Minister expressed much appreciation to the doctors and said he feels much better now.
As for his missing in action on the third week of January this year, Rafizi said this was due to Covid 19 which the Minister said was the first time to be diagnosed with Covid. This then left him bed ridden which inadvertently affected his back, resulting in a slip disc. After diagnosis and going a series of surgery he said he should recover soon and will be back to office in March.
