Shangri-La Hotels (Malaysia) Berhad has announced the appointment of Mr Christopher Phong Siew San to the SHMB Board and as the new Managing Director of the Company, effective 1 March 2024, succeeding Mr Chan Kong Leong.
Accordingly, Mr Chan Kong Leong’s last day as Managing Director of the Company and on the Board of SHMB it said will now be on 29 February 2024, instead of 31 March 2024, as previously announced on 29 December 2023.
Mr Christopher Phong is currently the Head of Investment & Asset Management of Shangri-La Asia Limited, where his existing responsibilities include overseeing the business operations and financial performances of the SHMB Group of hotels.
The board said Christopher is well placed to take on the role of Managing Director of the company and to lead SHMB Group’s continued growth. He has significant strategic expertise and leadership skills, particularly in finance, risk management, new business and project development which will further strengthen SHMB’s Board and will bring valuable insights and perspectives to the SHMB Group.
