Sunview Inks MOU On Potential US$1 Billion Solar Project In Uzbekistan

Sunview Group Berhad;s unit Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd has entered into a strategic business partnership agreement with the Administration of Kashkadarya region of potentially developing a 500 MWac solar photovoltaic plant in the Kashkadarya region (which is one of the regions of Uzbekistan), with the target of implementation to be within 1 year from the agreement’s signing.

Total cost of the Project is USD1 billion, which will be financed through foreign direct investments the parties said. In addition, Sunview said it will send representatives to the Kashkadarya region to explore possibilities of implementing the Project, engage in negotiations with local partners, and evaluate existing operational processes.

Executive director & chief executive officer HP Ong said, “We are thrilled to announce this collaboration as it underscores Sunview’s commitment in advancing renewable energy initiatives and global sustainability. This project will not only open new horizons for Sunview to extend its geographical presence beyond the local market but also accelerate the transition to renewable energy in the Kashkadarya region.
