Tenaga Nasional Berhad has confirmed that appointment of Datuk Ir. Megat Jalaluddin Megat Hassan effective 1 March 2024, as the group’s new President and Chief Executive Officer.
We will be taking over Datuk Seri Baharin Din who ended his term of service with the utility giant. Megat has been given a 2 year term.
As someone with experience in the energy industry and having led various key roles in TNB since 1989, including as Chief Strategic Officer, Chief Retail Officer and Chief Strategy and Business Officer, Megat Jalaluddin is considered a leader with the caliber to lead the company towards growth that more sustainable and provide added value to all stakeholders. The board noted that as the new CEO he will continue to steer the company in its business growth and drive the company’s energy transition agenda towards net zero emissions.
He received his appointment letter from TNB Chairman, Dato’ Abdul Razak Abdul Majid (left) at a brief ceremony at TNB Headquarters.
