MHTC Denies Claims It Lacks Direction After Mass Resignations

The Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council has issued statement on the alleged claim that the council lacked direction after a series of resignations that has left it in serious condition.

This comes after local media reported that MHTC was going through a rough patch after losing some its key personals due to lack of focus.

In its statement, MHTC said it has made significant strides in advancing agency-wide operational excellence that had been crucial to strengthening its foundation and positioning the agency for its next growth phase. It also said its currently evolving to meet the needs of healthcare travellers globally.

Moving ahead it said strategies are in place for Malaysia Year of Medical Tourism 2026 programme and is working with the various government agencies and stakeholders to ensure the success of the programme.

The council did say it is in transition and is looking for opportunities to drive improved returns for its partners and stakeholders.
