Top Lead Managers Honoured At 21st RAM League Awards

RAM Rating Services Berhad recognised the top lead arrangers of Malaysian corporate bonds and sukuk rated by the agency in 2023 by presenting a total of 12 awards in four categories at the 21st RAM League Awards (RLA).

The agent rated 26 issues (aggregating RM146.5 billion) out of a total 38 rated corporate bonds and sukuk issues (amounting to RM178.3 billion) last year.

For the second consecutive years, Maybank Investment Bank Berhad took pole position in the league tables for lead managing corporate bonds, by programme size and number of issues. The bank also ranked first in the corresponding sukuk issuance league tables, clinching a total of four awards.

Another strong podium finisher was CIMB Investment Bank Berhad, garnering a total of three awards in three categories, including top position as lead arranger for the highest number of sukuk issuances in 2023. Other notable winners were AmInvestment Bank Berhad, Hong Leong Investment Bank Berhad and Public Investment Bank Berhad.

“RAM Ratings congratulates all winners of the 21st RAM League Awards for their achievements. The pipeline of financing through the Malaysian primary debt capital market stayed promising in 2023, which saw new programmes totaling RM218 billion being established, 66% of which was rated by RAM. We would not have been able to achieve this without the support of the lead arrangers whom we honour today,” said Awang Za’aba Awang Mahmud, RAM Ratings Chief Executive Officer.
