Bridge Data Centres Looks At TNB As Energy Partner In Johor

Bridge Data Centres International Pte Ltd is looking at Tenaga Nasional Berhad as its energy supply partner after it signed a supplementary agreement surrounding its upcoming data center in Malaysia.

The Electricity Supply Agreement will see TNB providing additional power to support BDC’s plans to expand its data centre footprint in Johor.

The partnership with TNB began in 2022 when it first received 275kV utility power from TNB to support the initial hyperscale data centre. Now, two years later, the group said with the continued support from TNB and the Malaysian government, it is developing another data centre campus with a lower Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) in the region.

Construction of the facility is underway as per schedule, with the completion of the first phase of core and shell building and anticipates achieving the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC), a mandatory statutory requirement, for the earliest phases soon.

Mr. Eric Fan, President of Bridge Data Centres said, “Throughout our journey to advance digital connectivity and the digital economy of the country, TNB and various Malaysian government agencies at both the state and federal levels have provided unwavering support to BDC. We are grateful for this support and confident that our partnership will continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.”

BDC is a subsidiary of Chindata Group, which in turn is a leading carrier-neutral hyperscale data center solution provider in Global emerging markets and a first mover in building next-generation hyperscale data centers.
