Malaysia-Pakistan To Explore More Trade And Investment Opportunities

Malaysia and Pakistan have agreed to explore opportunities to strengthen relations, especially in the fields of trade and investment, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar said the matter was communicated by his Pakistani counterpart, Shehbaz Sharif, who contacted him via telephone last night. “We agreed to explore opportunities to intensify Malaysia-Pakistan relations, especially in the field of trade and investment. Anwar said he also welcomed Shehbaz’s proposal to export halal meat from the country to Malaysia.

In addition, Anwar said various regional and international issues were also discussed, including the situation in Gaza and Afghanistan. “PM (Prime Minister) Shehbaz also praised Malaysia’s stance on the problem in Palestine,”. According to him, both of them also expressed hope that the relationship between Malaysia and Pakistan would continue to be strengthened, and Shehbaz extended the invitation for Anwar to pay an official visit to Pakistan as soon as possible.

The two leaders well-wished each other for Hari Raya Aidilfitri being celebrated by Muslims in most countries including Malaysia yesterday.
