Airlines Avoiding Iranian Airspace, MAS KL-London Flight To Reroute

Airline companies worldwide are currently avoiding Iranian airspace due to rising tensions that may lead to a potential attack by the Iranian military on Israel. This alert was issued by President Joe Biden of the United States, who warned that the attack could occur within the next 48 hours.

Lufthansa has already issued stated that it will suspend Tehran flights and will halt using Iran airspace.

Over here, Malaysia Airlines said it will be rerouting flights between Kuala Lumpur and London to avoid Iranian airspace amid fears on attacks in the Middle East

Others who have followed suite include Air India, Australian airline Qantas as well as German airline were among the first few airlines to reroute flights temporarily due to fears that Iran would strike at Israel.

German Press Agency (dpa) reported that US President Joe Biden said on Friday he expected Iran to launch an attack against Israel “sooner than later”.

Biden said he did not want to elaborate on what classified intelligence Washington had about Tehran’s plans, the agency reported.

Iran’s threats towards Israel have increased following an airstrike on the Iranian embassy compound in Syria on April 1 which killed several military generals.

There were reports that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had seized a container ship related to Israel in the Gulf as tensions soar in the region.

It is also noted that AirAsia does not use the Iranian airspace for its flights at the moment.
