Capital A in a Bursa filing said the news article titled “Capital A seeks private placement to raise up to US$400 mil, say sources” by a business weekly published on 15 April 2024 is not accurate and will seek for it to be retracted.

The company said contrary to the report, there was no media interview conducted on March 4, 2024, with the weekly paper or any other entity.

The airline group said it currently does not have any intention to undertake a private placement of new ordinary shares in Capital A of up to USD400 million. However, it added the management is in the midst of exploring a potential fund-raising exercise by its aviation business.

Capital A also said the evaluation is still in its preliminary stage and that the Board of Directors have not been presented with firm proposal to deliberate on. It has advised its shareholders not to speculate in the trading of shares of the company.

The group said it intends to request the weekly paper to retract the report to ensure accurate representation.
