Kelana Jaya LRT Resumes After Lighting Strike Disrupted Power Supply

The Kelana Jaya Line LRT service which was operating with a limited number of trains due to a disruption to the power supply system is back to normal after engineers fixed the problem.

Prasarana Malaysia Berhad said the incident resulted in additional trains from the Subang LRT Depot being unable to be mobilised for use during peak hours. “Due to the disruption, the Kelana Jaya Line LRT service is operating with a frequency of four to five minutes.

“Several facilities, including escalators, lights, and lifts at three LRT stations, namely, Kelana Jaya, Taman Bahagia, and Taman Jaya, cannot function, but commuters can still use LRT services as usual at those stations,” it earlier said in a statement.

However, Rapid KL on its social media platform posted at 10 pm, said the lines are functioning well and that the train timetable has been adjusted with the service now operating as usual. Therefore, it said the intermediate bus service has been terminated.
