BNM International Reserves For 15 May Back Up At US$113.3 Billion

The international reserves of Bank Negara Malaysia amounted to USD113.3 billion as at 15 May 2024. The Central bank said the reserves position is sufficient to finance 5.4 months of imports of goods and service, and is 1.0 times of the total short-term external debt.

In terms of breakdown:

  1. Foreign Currency Reserves 101.1
  2. IMF Reserves Position 1.4
  3. SDRs 5.7
  4. Gold 2.8
  5. Other Reserve Assets 2.3

The reserves were at US$112.8 billion as of April 30 this year, after declining to a five month low, however it seems the reserves have gained by US$500 million as of 15 May.
