Singapore’s Giga Launches New 5G eSim With Monthly Free Roaming Including To Malaysia

Singapore’s mobile service provider giga! has launced new 5G eSIM plans that include free data roaming to five popular destinations, including Malaysia in celebration of its fifth anniversary.

Giga!’s new offerings promise customers fast, secure, and convenient 5G connectivity. Recognising the growing need for reliable connections as more people travel for work and leisure, giga! now offers monthly free data roaming to Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, and India. Users can expect faster download and upload speeds, seamless streaming, and ultra-low latency on Singapore’s fastest network.

The integration of eSIM technology aligns with giga!’s commitment to sustainability and reducing its ecological footprint. By eliminating the need for physical SIM cards, the eSIM technology enhances convenience and security for users.

In a statement today, giga! said customers can easily activate 5G connectivity without the hassle of physical cards, reducing the risk of SIM card theft and fraud. All transactions are securely managed through the giga! app, ensuring customers’ data is protected.

From now until June 30, 2024, existing customers on plans such as the $18.33, $20.37, and $25.45 plans will be automatically upgraded to the new 5G eSIM plans.

These customers can exchange their old SIM cards for an eSIM for free, usually priced at $1.00. After this promotional period, a $1.00 fee will apply for an eSIM, while a physical 5G SIM card will cost $2.04 for delivery.

The $18.33 5G plan includes 300GB of data, 800 SMS, and 800 minutes of talk time, along with 2GB of free roaming data.
