The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, through Tourism Malaysia, has welcomed a group of 200 incentive participants from China under Beijing Jingdong Century Trading Co., Ltd. (JD.COM). The group will tour Malaysia from August 31 to September 5, 2024.
JD.COM, one of China’s leading e-commerce platforms, connects customers with a variety of commodities and offers services related to tourism, including accommodations, airline reservations, and vacation packages.
The incentive group, composed of top-performing personnel from JD.COM, will explore key destinations in Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka. The tour aims to immerse the participants in Malaysia’s rich history, culture, gastronomy, and modern lifestyle.
Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, expressed his enthusiasm for the visit. “We are honoured to welcome JD.COM’s incentive group to Malaysia.
This visit not only strengthens our ties with China but also allows us to showcase our diverse tourism offerings. We are confident that their experience here will highlight why Malaysia is a top destination for both leisure and business travellers,” he said.
The introduction of visa-free entry for Chinese travellers, effective from December 1, 2023, until December 31, 2026, has led to increased inquiries and bookings to Malaysia. As of June 2024, Malaysia has welcomed 1,449,711 arrivals from China, marking a remarkable 190.8% increase compared to 498,540 arrivals during the same period in 2023.
In preparation for the upcoming Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, Tourism Malaysia is intensifying its promotional efforts with the goal of attracting 35.6 million international tourists and generating RM147.1 billion in tourism revenue.
