On 4 Sept 2024, the Government announced the retargeting of the diesel subsidy under the BUDI MADANI initiative.
The retail price of RON97 has been reduced by 2 sen per litre to RM3.40 per litre.
While the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia has been reduced by 2 sen per litre to RM3.16 per litre.
The retail prices of petroleum products from 5 September 2024 to 11 September 2024 are as follows:
(i) the retail price of RON97 reduced by 2 sen at RM3.40 per litre;
(ii) the retail price of RON95 petrol remains unchanged at RM2.05 per litre;
(iii) the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia reduced by 2 sen at RM3.16 per litre; and
(iv) the retail price of diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan remains unchanged at RM2.15 per litre.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Finance today, the Government said they will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people.
